Terms and Conditions

  1.  General Information 

The Costa Rican Medical Services Association known as “Asociación de Servicios Médicos Costarricenses” (or ASEMECO), legal ID No. 3-002-045363, is a legally constituted entity registered in the Public Registry, volume 294, entry 12503. ASEMECO is the owner of Hospital Clínica Bíblica, located in San José, between Avenue 14 and 16, Central and First Street. It is also the owner of the website "citas-clinicabiblica.com," including all rights to its graphic design, content, and databases. Through this document, ASEMECO informs the user (hereinafter, the USER) about the conditions for the use of the website. 

 

  1. Definitions 
  1. HCB: Hospital Clínica Bíblica. 
  1. USER: Person who accesses and uses the website to schedule, manage, or pay for medical appointments, either for themselves or for third parties. 
  1. WEBSITE: Digital platform owned by ASEMECO, accessible through the domain "citas-clinicabiblica.com," which allows the USER to view, schedule, and pay for medical appointments. 
  1. COOKIE: Text file stored in the USER's browser to store their activity on the WEBSITE. 

 

  1. Available Services: The USER may, through the WEBSITE: 
  1. Schedule medical appointments according to the service required. 
  1. Search for healthcare professionals by specialty. 
  1. Schedule appointments for themselves or for third parties. 
  1. Make online payments for medical services. 

 

  1. Use of the Website: Use of the website is the sole responsibility of the USER. ASEMECO is not responsible for: 
  1. Misuse of the site. 
  1. Damage to electronic devices caused by viruses or other harmful elements. 
  1. Disclosure of clinical information by the USER, whether intentional or not. 
  1. The USER must provide personal data to use the services. This data will be treated confidentially and used solely for the purposes established. Refusal to provide personal data will limit access to certain services. 

 

  1. User Responsibilities: The USER agrees to: 
  1. Use the information related to their appointments correctly. 
  1. Read and follow the instructions of the healthcare professional. 
  1. Not to commit fraud, impersonate others, or schedule fictitious appointments. 
  1. Attend scheduled appointments on time. 
  1. Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information. 
  1. Cancel or reschedule appointments at least 24 hours in advance, if necessary.

  1. Information Security 

All information transmitted through the website is done so via a secure connection certified by Digicert. ASEMECO reserves the right to suspend access to the site in the event of misuse. 

 

  1. Online Payments:  
  1. The USER may make advance payments for medical consultations and services through the BAC Credomatic payment platform, under SUGEF regulations. 
  1. The right of withdrawal may be exercised within 8 days of payment, provided that the service has not been received. 
  1. To request a refund, the USER must complete the corresponding form and submit it in person at the offices of Hospital Clínica Bíblica. 
  1. Online payment covers only the medical consultation. Additional services must be paid for on the day of the appointment. 
  1. If the USER enjoys some form a discount agreement, this will not be automatically applied to the online payment. It must be arranged separately.

  1. Communications 

By managing a medical appointment through the WEBSITE and providing data such as email and telephone number, the USER authorizes ASEMECO to send communications on behalf of Hospital Clínica Bíblica (HCB). All electronic communications will include the sender's identification and a clear mechanism for the USER to opt out of receiving them. The USER may request to be excluded from this service at any time, free of charge, by writing to HCB or via the following email addresses:contraloria@clinicabiblica.com / servicios@clinicabiblica.com 

 

  1. Limitations of Liability of ASEMECO 
  1. By using the WEBSITE and accepting these terms, the USER acknowledges and accepts the following limitations: 
  1. If the WEBSITE contains hyperlinks to third-party sites, access to such sites is the sole responsibility of the USER. ASEMECO is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or security of such external sites. 
  1. ASEMECO shall not be liable for any damages, loss of profits or harm arising from viruses, malware or other harmful elements that may affect the USER's devices during use of the WEBSITE. Although ASEMECO implements adequate security measures, it acknowledges that no online system is completely invulnerable. It is the USER's responsibility to keep their devices protected by means of updated software and appropriate security measures. 
  1. ASEMECO will have a period of up to 30 calendar days to resolve any claim, query, or request submitted by the USER. 

 

 

 

  1. Information Security: The USER agrees to use the WEBSITE in accordance with the law, morality, good customs, and the principles of good faith. The following is strictly prohibited: 
  1. Using the WEBSITE for illegal or lucrative purposes. 
  1. Performing actions that compromise the integrity of the site, such as sabotage, hacking, system overload, use of bots or other automated tools. 
  1. Reproducing, copying, distributing, transforming, or modifying the content of the site without express authorization. 
  1. Infringing the intellectual or industrial property rights of ASEMECO or third parties, including the graphic design, source code, and software of the site. 

 

  1. Applicable Law: The processing of clinical data and the use of the WEBSITE shall be governed by the laws in force in the Republic of Costa Rica, including, but not limited to: 
  1. General Health Law (No. 5395) 
  1. General Regulations for National Hospitals (No. 1743-SPPS) 
  1. Regulation for the Authorization of Hospitalization Services (No. 41182-S) 
  1. General Law on HIV (No. 7771) 
  1. Law on the Rights and Duties of Users of Public and Private Health Services (No. 8239) 
  1. In all matters not expressly provided for in this document, the Costa Rican regulations in force shall apply. 

 

  1. Acceptance 
  1. By checking the box marked "I have read and accept the terms and conditions of the Hospital Clínica Bíblica website," the USER gives their free, informed, and express consent to: 
  1. The collection, storage, use, modification, consultation, transmission, transfer, blocking, deletion, destruction, or digitization of the personal and clinical data provided. 
  1. Compliance with all the provisions contained in this document. 
  1. These terms and conditions shall remain in force as long as they are available on the WEBSITE. Continued use of the site implies the USER's voluntary and express acceptance of them.
